Is it just me or is radio advertising in Northern Ireland nothing short of abysmal? Maybe its radio advertising across the country, but I’ve never heard so many cheesy lines. I listen to Cool FM at work, who obviously are part funded by advertising sales. Whoever thinks up some of the ads, needs to get out more. There was this one advert in particular that stands out. Its for the Spinning Wheel in Belfast, and there are unexplained mobile phone beeps in the middle of the ad. Maybe they are trying to associate the sound of a mobile phone message tone with advertising, but it is particularly annoying, and if anything I would boycott the place on purpose. I’ve yet to hear a professional ad, with a professional voice over.
