Its 8.14 here in Belfast, and I’ve sent my girlfriend a text message to get up. Its drinking time. Get some Green Guiness down your gullet.

2) Go watch a St Paddy’s day parade

All the more fun if you have adhered to point 1.

3) Hunt for Leprechauns

Get your green rimmed shamrock specs out, and turn the place upside down looking for the little folk. And you know if you catch one, he has to give you his pot of gold.

4) Find a Shamrock

Not quite as interesting as finding a leprechaun, but hey, lets face it you stand more of a chance. In fact you stand and even bigger chance if you have taken a skinful. Shamrocks are good luck. (And yes that is a four leaf clover).

5) Play some traditional Irish music

Grab your tin whistle and play some diddly dee diddly do music. Slap your knees and sing along.
