Just reading today, about some more investment from Google, following on from their research in the energy field started in 2007 - they are investing a further $10m in “enhanced” geothermal systems - essentially technology for tapping underground heat - which it says is one of most promising forms of renewable energy.
This breakthrough energy technology called Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) for short, differs from traditional geothermal energy significantly, in that instead of looking for pockets of naturally occuring pockets of steam and hot water, they are creating the fracturing hot rock, and getting the water down there themselves.
More information on how EGS (Enhanced Geothermal Systems) works over at the drilling company, that Google have given investment to.
Is there any pie that Google dont have their fingers in?
