fresh-squeezed.jpgI have eventually managed to get my site up and working again, the blog has been offline now for a day and a bit while DNS settings propogated over, so thanks to everyone who stuck it out. Let me know if you are still picking up the RSS feed, as I’ve noticed on a couple of blogs before that the new install of WordPress can be a bit of a pain in the buttock.

One thing that I couldn’t for the life of me figure out was that when you install WordPress it defaults a few settings into the database, namely the ip address and URL that you first visit it on..so if you install it on a temporary IP address domain, it will automatically redirect on startup….making it look like (a subdomain) isnt redirecting properly…lesson learned.

The blog is on hosting now with Blacknight.ie, which should be a good bit more reliable than my previous hosting company, so we shall see how things fair over the coming months. Take a look around and let me know what you think, or if you manage to spot any bugs etc. I still need to get my htaccess properly working with URL rewriting. It appears to be rewriting my css rules in my blog pages, which results in something that looks like a cross between Jacob Nielsons site and a broken typewriter…Anyone that know how to stop css from being rewritten on Apache, drop me a line.
